Grape Same sentence for rosé wine, Salice Valentino Rosato is Negroamaro (80-100%) added Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and / or Malvasia Nera di Lecce (0-20%), the wine is grown around the town of Salice Salentino, west of Lecce.
As a young wine is fresh and floral, while as stored emerges as a deep, complex wine, and in some cases raises itself up as one of Italy's most remarkable rosé wines. Can sometimes be experienced as sparkling.
In particular, Leone The Cast Riis version of Rosato, "Five Roses" is highlighted. Name suggests almost that there is a version of an American whiskey, and to legend, it is not nonsensical.
When U.S. troops made a thrust in Apulia during the termination of second World War, they came across a rosé wine, which the color was very similar to their beloved "Four Roses" bourbon whiskey. The content, however, was a strong Salice Salentino Rosato, and was promptly christened "Five Roses" because the soldiers believed that this wine deserved praise one more than their own whiskey.
